Hell of a match by Baez. Sure, he lost but the first two sets were very good.
Zverev, to me, remains a mystery. A long exchange at the net, obviously congratulating Baez. He can be so nice on occasions (his speech after losing Madrid), then he does some other stuff.
He told Baez not to worry; he (Zverev) also lost a big match after being up 2-0 (USO final).

Ramos Vinolas up 2-1 in set against Carlitos. To me, THAT would be a huge upset.

RV missed an easy forehand at match point ..oh well, I guess that is why he is not a grand slam champion...

Well, not that quick ;) There are plenty of reasons why he is in no conversation for major titles.
He is one of those solid players that are the artisans of the sport. He does everything well, but nothing is extraordinary. I actually find this people inspirational: they worked hard at their craft and reached a very high level. Just not good enough to be a star.

I have never seen Trevisan play, but her results have been very good lately and she just clobbered Linette, making Jabeur's loss to Linette look even worse.

Would not be surprised if Trevisan reached the semis, although I'm flying blind here because I don't what her game is like.

Her game is Sara Errani with a good serve and without the obnoxiousness. She tracks everything down, has good legs and speed, and has a smile on her face all the time.
By now, sure, why not? She can reach the semis. If Podoroska did it two tears ago and, if I remember well, Trevisan reached the QF's, the semis in this wide open draw are possible.

No MTO, sure, but Raducanu still took at 10+ minute bathroom break in between sets 2 and 3

Bencic score over Andreescu looks pretty easy/straightforward...was it?

She was up 5-1 in the 2nd set, lost 3 games in a row and had to go to deuce a couple of times on her serve to close it out.

Parry follows up her win over Krejcikova with an easy win over Osorio. And Camila is not a player that just rolls over.
Maybe this girl is for real.

Maybe. Sure is a lot of opportunity in that section.

For the most part, yes it was. Bianca was trying to force the issue too much today. Also, and I think this is much more of an issue for Bianca than Belinda, there was no flow to the match whatsoever. Very, very choppy and it definitely played into Bianca's over aggressive approach today. She just didn't get into any groove except for that stretch in the end. Belinda wasn't bothered by the lack of flow, played a very even match, which can be her downfall, she didn't get bogged down by any minor mistake and didn't get frustrated. It was a good win for her.

The way that the Alcaraz and Zverev matches played out, it looked as if someone in the Roland Garros administration went berserk at one point in both matches, yelling:
"We CANNOT allow this to happen!! We will lose so much revenue if (Alcaraz/Zverev) lose this early! We MUST NOT allow this!!!!!"
Suliso wrote: Wed May 25, 2022 1:11 pm I'd argue that Jabeur losing R1 was as big of a surprise as one could reasonably expect in the early days. Sakkari losing today would be a surprise as well, albeit a lesser one.
Muchova beating Sakkari is only possibly a surprise because Muchova's been injured recently, and is in the midst of her comeback.
Otherwise, a healthy Muchova beating a healthy Sakkari is definitely not a surprise of any degree. Muchova is capable of beating any top player on a given day.
(And a healthy Sakkari beating a healthy Muchova would also not be a surprise.)
