Jule is not happening today. I'd say Pegula will be an easier opponent. Jessica is very steady, but I don't think that's a great recipe for beating Iga.

I know, but that's not in a Slam. Plus I think Swiatek is playing better than in Washington, just not as good as in the spring.
Of course I'm not betting my savings on this or any other outcome in this tournament.

I don’t think Iga’s form today will beat Pegula. She will have to step it up.Suliso wrote:I know, but that's not in a Slam. Plus I think Swiatek is playing better than in Washington, just not as good as in the spring.

Niemeier got tight and never recovered. Iga just had to maintain her focus. Pegula will be ready for her.

Pegula just clocked an in-form Kvitova, so I expect her to compete against Iga.

My prediction - Swiatek beats Pegula, but falls to either Collins or Sabalenka in SF's.
Btw the first USO QF for Iga. I haven't double checked, but I believe she's the only one to reach three Slam quarters this year.

Tiafoe's FH is working wonders. And Rafa's serve is not giving him any free points. It looks very good for Tiafoe.

Tiafoe is protecting his serve very well. Nadal has only had two break points so far. That's not enough.

Pegula reached the QF this year at the Australian Open, French Open, and here at the US Open.
