by ponchi101 I will post our picks soon, because some people are already seeing their losers be winners.
It will be a link to a spreadsheet.
Because I am inputting the picks manually, please check them. There are several Asian last names that are very similar and we need to make sure you got the right one.

by ponchi101 This is the link for posts:
TABLES AND RESULTS

EVERYBODY has her/his own tab, which will help you keep track.
As per above, let me know if there are picks that are incorrect (meaning I wrote them down wrong; not that you regret them now)

by dave g This is already a crash and burn for me. My top three ATP picks won yesterday. :(

by ponchi101 Two of mine. Two qualifiers from Japan and China. But it seems that a lot of wins in this pool, this time.

Great!
Now my top WTA pick wins her match. The only good thing is that she is on my AMitS team.

by ptmcmahon Contest schizo at it's finest!

by texasniteowl Better than expected so far because I usually suck. My 2nd ATP pick won his match. But the other 3 lost as I hoped. For the WTA, one still to play; my 4th pick won...go figure, but picks 1 and 2 lost for me.

by IronMike My first 6 picks are wrong (won). 2 are still waiting to play. Do I get some type of wooden utensil if I go 0 for 8? lol

You will get mentioned and eternal immortality in our lore.
Or momentary mortality. Or a walk of shame. Or... I don't know, but that would actually break the record for lowest scores ever. So, sure, we'll figure it out. ;)

by ponchi101 Because of yesterday's delay, there are a few matches pending, so we will update results tomorrow.
BTW. NO perfect scores this time. It has been rough on almost everybody.

by Irena2 The WTA and ATP picks are reversed on my tab. Alas, not that it matters... A lot of my hoped-for losers won, too.

Corrected.
It may matter. Scores are very low this time. You are NOT out of competition. ;)

Tenedab was the high score, but there were no perfect scores this time. Actually, most scores were on the low side. Ironmike was one match away from snatching my record of the lowest score ever (2) as he posted a 3. He is in good position to be the wooden spoon of the wooden spoons, not an easy feat.

Because there are several players with the same last name (the Chinese battalion), please check your tab in the spreadsheet to see if I got your pick right.

On we move to the second round.

by jazzyg This was all-time stuff for me. I went 48-16 in the Tennis Channel racket bracket contest for the WTA first round, good enough for the top 55, but still managed to go 1-3 here with my YCWJ picks. That's an unlikely combo.

But to top it off, I misspelled two of my ATP picks so badly that I probably should have been disqualified on the spot. I was sober when I made then, so I don't know what the heck was going on there.

My score isn't in the table? I'm in the spreadsheet and I have a score, 14. Just not in the pic you posted?

Well, there is this little problem with Excel that, if you DON'T WRITE THE NAME DOWN, the table entry won't work. Right?
My bad. I did not pick your tab. You are correct, you have 14 points. Tomorrow's update will show that.

by ponchi101 With 2R over, we can say:
We are not getting any better at this game. Just a few players have 4 picks left. Most are at 1-2. IronMike secured the Wooden Spoon, running out of picks with 3 points to his credit.
At the top, Cyborgshoes stands with 29 points and 4 picks left, so he looks fine. But, right behind is Tolulops, with 27 points, and three picks. Not over yet.
The link has been updated. Check it to see if the scores are correct. The summary is here:

by IronMike I didn't get the perfect score. One of my players actually lost but then her opponent won in the next round so a pretty clean sheet :-)

by CyborgShoes My 3rd round prospects are pretty dim but it was an honor to spend one day at the top!

I think there might be a couple of errors in the second round. You have Cressy winning, but Rune actually beat Cressy.

Also, on the WTA side, Zhu beat Teichmann, but I believe the scores show the opposite.

I could be reading the scoring wrong of course.

No. You read them right. I had those two results inverted. Let me check how much did it affect overall scores.
Txs!

PeterSkan is in a choice position to get this spoon, as the rest of us wonder what happened. When did J.J. Wolf learn to play so well?
We will most likely never know.

You can check you scores and tabs here:

by ponchi101 After a couple of corrections thanks to Weefunk, we ended 3R and the contest has gone.... horribly for most.
10 participants have no picks left, and Peterskan, sitting on top, has only 3. With all these Mmoh's and Wolf's and Shelton's doing so well, we are doing very poorly.

by GlennHarman Poncho, I was not credited with 4 points for my number 1 women’s thread still going. So I should have gotten 7 points for round 3, for a total to date of 30. Many thanks for running this. You know I am a YVWJ fan, though I have managed never to win it.

by ponchi101 It's Ponchi, Glenn,! Poncho is my dumb brother! ;)
You are right. Your 1st place pick was not tabulated.
With that score, you moved up the score and you have 3 picks left too. Very much in contention.
The online score has been updated, and this is the new table:
YCWJ Table.jpg

by GlennHarman My spell-check always changes your name to “Poncho”. I try to remember to change it, but I missed it this time. Thanks for fixing the scores. Being in contention is rare for me in YCWJ. GH

Peterskan remains in 1st place, and has only 1 pick. But, his 1 pick is Korda. Sokol is in 2nd, but he has TWO picks: Lehecka as 1st, Korda as 3rd. So, if Korda losses and Lehecka wins, this comes close to over. But, if BOTH lose, it gets even tighter, and it will go on a little longer.
Good (bad) luck to both.

by ponchi101 With the semis incoming:
Peterskan and Sokol are in the running. But, there is an interesting dynamic:
Sokol has two picks, in 2nd place. But she has Tsitsipas in 1st, and Khachanov in 3rd.
But PeterSkan has Khachanov in 1st. So, Khachanov gives them both points, but at different rates. It will boil down to Tsitsipas losing (or not).

by motobass Ooh - exciting finish for this one. Multiple people could be picking the men's Wooden Spoon.

by sokol I didn't visit this site for a while, since I was out of SP in the first 4 days, and I never do well in YCWJ. I came in to see how badly I did this time, and turns out I am still in the running? Lol
But Tsitsipas will win obviously, so...

And I know it is strange, but sokol is a she )), long story

by ponchi101 The scoring is almost set.
With Khachanov's death, Peterskan has secured the win. He has Tsitsipas and so does Sokol, but PeterSkan has him at a higher position, and is in first place. So, when Novak mauls Stefanos, he will collect the points and the bonus.

by PeterSkan The other consideration is the impact of the wooden spoon points. I actually unexpectedly won YCWJ once because my WS points catapulted me to the top. But in this year's AO YCWJ I'm pretty sure I can no longer be overtaken, assuming all the data is correct.

Since I've bombed out as a Survivor and in the SKAN, it's fitting that I "win" this as the biggest loser on the board ...

Thanks for running this. It's always fun ...

by Irena2 Congrats, PeterSkan!

by ashkor87 the scoring is too difficult to understand/follow, so I am not even trying.. good news I was still alive...

by deelighted2 Congrats, PeterSkan!

We will do it again for RG, so keep an eye on all those players that will be losing early on clay! And rest assured, they will reach the Semis at the French! Thanks for playing, gang :grouphug: -->
by ponchi101 This is the official count.
Peterskan does end up winning the contest, with a stellar score of 72. As he had his top pick in the ATP being the Wooden Spoon, he collected the huge 20 points bonus, allowing to reach that very fine score.
Congrats, PeterSkan! 🎉🎉🎉 :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

Nobody was able to pick the Wooden spoon for the WTA. That went to Van Uytvanck, in this sequence:
VanUytvanck/Kvitova/Kalinina/Krejcikova/Pegula/Azarenka/Rybakina/Sabalenka

For the ATP. the Wooden spoon was Escobedo:
Escobedo/Daniel/Shapovalov/Hurkacz/Korda/Khachanov/Tsitsipas/Djokovic

This is the final table of positions, and the previous link will guide you to the last updated webpage:

I think we had 4 people pick the ATP Wooden Spoon. What is the most to ever pick a Wooden Spoon?

by ashkor87 indeed an awesome performance! (and non-performance by his picks!)

by Omegadoom Congrats to PeterSkan! Well played!

Many thanks to Tog for running this contest, & for Ponchi helping him out.
