The match isn't over as I write this, but this was a big opportunity for Rune. I thought this half of the draw is/was his to lose. Casper hasn't had a great year, and Sascha hasn't had much match play.
Rune served for it at 5-4 in the fifth and now serves to stay in it at 5-6.
This is my first time watching Cerundolo. Fun player, big potential. What are the weaknesses?

Ugh,.. Cerundolo serving at 5-3 in the TB dumped an easy BH approach in the net. But I forgot this is a 10-point TB... I thought that was a huge opportunity lost, but not so much since it's 10 points.

Ooof, tough loss by Cerundolo, he looked fresher in the TB but maybe didn't believe? Rune keeps his hopes alive. Plays Ruud next. Whoever wins should reach the final. Ruud had an easier day today physically, but Woz just said Rune should recover just fine at his age.

What happened was, Cerundolo apologized right after Rune hit the ball, because his own shot had taken a bad bounce. Yup, and we got to see Ben in the Chicago tournament last year, among many others- including, of course, Tracy Austin's kid, Brendan Holt.
Ben's mom's family is from Indy and is tennis royalty here. The Witskins - his uncle Todd played at USC and was a top 50 ATP player, and his uncle Rick played some, as well. Rick is now the No. 1 senior pickleball player in the country, I believe. I'm sure you know about Todd. He died young of brain cancer.

I most definitely remember Todd Witskin (who also had a #4 ranking in doubles), and how shocking it was that he died so young- 34. I didn't know that there was a family connection with Ben. I so much am hoping that Ben will have a terrific career.

Ben also made a great impression in Chicago. He just comes off as a sweet guy, with a ton of talent. And, I most definitely remember the Witsken Connors US Open beatdown- albeit, Connors beat him the other 4 times they played. Nevertheless, all Connors losses gave, and still give me, great joy.

Connors. During his induction to the BJK Center's Ring of Fame, they did spell his name CONNERS. Jimmy was not happy.
