I wouldn't say poor at all. She has played well. She has beaten Garcia, Samsonova, and Svitolina. Played Pliskova extremely close when Pliskova was hot for a minute. She has a winning record. It's as expected. No deep runs (one quarter) but getting her match legs back and playing and competing very well.

The volley Emma hit to break back and send it to the tiebreak was insanely athletic.

I thought they still had close games.

Alexandrova is returning very well, standing close in on the first serve - every first serve return has been from in front of the service line. Iga's returning terribly. I'm not sure the court speed is a factor in this mtach. They aren't getting into too many rallies. Iga is rattled.

Alexandrova is also serving well. Averaging an ace per game.

Good pull by Tennis Channel or whoever they stole this from on Twitter - Iga failed to break serve for the first time since Adelaide 2022, vs Barty. More than 2 years.

Alexandrova played great. 30-some winners to 11 or so by iga. She was aggressive, and Iga had a bad day. At least partly because Alexandrova rattled her.

This is the type of win/result that Alexandrova needed if she was to move to the next level - now she's got to follow it up.

If she wins the tournament. ;) She has always had unfulfilled potential. A lot of players have the level she showed last night. Playing at that level consistently is the difference between the Alexandrovas and the top 10.

NOBODY has trolled you, Ashkor. We have a different opinion about Alexandrova than you do. You are extremely high on her, and we say she is a very good player that is ranked accordingly.
And you are happy now because she beat Iga. Be so. That was a very good match and she played excellent tennis. But, when she loses to Putintseva 5&1 (IW) or Frech 6&3 (Dubai) nobody runs out to point out to you that, well, she just lost to a lower ranked opponent. By solid scores.
You know we take trolling very seriously here. If you feel you are being trolled simply because we disagree with your opinion about a player, I ask you to reconsider. We are talking about tennis; if somebody beliefs that your fave it not great, that is their right. As long as it is done respectfully.
