This is just my opinion of course but Shapo never improved his game after he got that big win in Canada. I saw him live at the US Open after he got that win and I remember how he had that big take back on his return of serve and hoped he'd fix it and other deficiencies I saw.

As for FAA I never understood how, with his game, he did so well his first few years on the tour.

Will Holger be Shapo Part 2? Hugely promising player that was less than palatable and then simply went away?
I like both of them. :) Neither is unpalatable to me. I think Rune has a more solid game. More athletic, better foundation. Shapo was always erratic.

Noskova won the first set 7-6(7) over Swiatek but Iga is romping in the second set 5-2 but she was up by that score in the first set before Noskova went on a tear so...

The unpire tells Chris to go through him, not talk directly to his opponent. I think that's kind of dumb, that you can't talk to an opponent. They're grown-ups.

Jarry vs Wild was a hot-blooded match. Jarry won in 3 and lit into the umpire forever afterward about not controlling the crowd while he was serving and letting Wild go to the towel at one point but not Jarry. Referee Jerry Armstrong finally came out. Wild didn't shake the umpire's hand.

Cold-blooded answer by Iga when she was down love-40 trying to serve it out at 5-4 in the third. Four quick winners and a service winner. That's a champ. She amped up her serve once she was in the hole. Fearless.

Scores like 6-1,1-6 are another sign of a court where holding serve is not a given .. a slow court. See Saba vs Kalinina

Noskova has really acquitted herself well..in the third set, usually, Swiatek serves up a bagel..this score is really commendable!
