Yes, a shame that Keys has Sabalenka in R4 at the French. But if she plays as well as she is now, she has a great chance. New racket is really clicking for her.

I don't think Keys can beat any of the big 3 but anyone else, she can...so semifinals is definitely possible, even probable...

She got within a few points of beating Sabalenka at the US Open. I think she can do it, if she holds her nerve. I definitely think she can beat Rybakina. Keys has to beat Sabalenka in R4 unless Aryna is upset earlier. Which hasn't happened at a Slam in two years.

I was there. Madison had a match point in the second set, I believe.

In that first set against Sabalena, Madison played beautifully. It was a joy to watch. SCARY good. In the last two sets, Madison's level was not as potent. But, she obviously hung in there- albeit, the inevitable seemed quite clear to me. 'Twas a huge lost opportunity.

I can't get all that excited. Either of them could still flame out at any point (the last two years for Sabalenka, WHATever). And, in any case, this is all about The Dull Bestest Iga Classic.

Yay. :bang:

The sport has some beautiful trophies, and yet feels the need to create some modern art monstrosities to balance it out.
