Emma didn't waste this WC. She's a conundrum as a wanna be fan. I liked both her and Layla in USO final, but it's been hard liking Emma the way I like Layla ever since.

Emma hasn't given us much to react to on court, just a lot of off-court drama with coaches. She's had legitimate injuries and surgeries. She still has a lot of career ahead of her, but surely some scar tissue, too, since she has said she sometimes wishes she hadn't won the US Open (a silly thought, I hope she realizes).

Both are very fine players, in different ways, both are good for the game..am a fan of both. Raducanu's struggles are understandable, it is hard to settle for a coach when you haven't really had one and still done well .people need to be more understanding

But she did have a coach. The one that guided her to a USO. That is the reason she is so puzzling.

An untold story. It could be many things. Maybe she or the dad never loved him as the coach and saw an opportunity to get a bigger name or finally afford someone else. Maybe it was more petty than that. I'll ask Tara Moore sometime what she has heard.

I think injuries were a much bigger reason for her decline than mental problems.

I see no reason she cannot become a contender again if she has an extended period of health. Always felt she was more talented than Fernandez even though most people appeared to like Fernadez more.

Maybe I am mistaken but wasn't she just working with the Tennis Association coach,? Sort of temporarily, when she won the USO?
