To give Bronzetti her due she played a hell of a match. She constantly changed pace, pushed her back, jerked her around the baseline and using moon balls made her generate her own pace. By the second set you could see Halep was arm weary. She'd also stopped running after balls.

Her decision to retire was the right decision.
