Meanwhile, Andreescu finding her grass feet, beat Trevisan very easily.. happy to see her playing confidently again. She really has no weaknesses, I think of her as the WTA equivalent of Djokovic

That is quite a comparison, Ashkor (from Andreescu to Djokovic). I really don't think there is a WTA equivalent to Djokovic (not now nor ever).

Boom Boom Liscki won! Hasn't had many main draw wins at the tour level since 2019 - a few at a 125K. Watch out, Wimbledon dark house. She's only 32!
What about Chris Evert as the closest WTA equivalent?
Maybe the mold of Djkokovic- all-court player with no obvious weakness and no one giant weapon, strong mentally. I'd say Djokovic is a much better mover. And one of the things that makes Djokovic so good is his commitment and work ethic. The idea isn't bad, though.

Chris did not have the serve and was not able to transition from defense to offense like Novak does.
On the other side, I simply cannot even claim that Novak comes close to Chris in the mental strength aspects. I know he is a very strong competitor now, but his history is checkered; hers wasn't.
But.... the closest? I may yield.

Andreescu impressive in her win.. Kasatkina next- Kasatkina is a very good player, quick and good at the net but not really a grass-courter, so let us see how Andreescu does..meanwhile, Anisimova was very impressive agains Li.. maybe she is beginning to realize she can play on grass!

Despite all that Kasatkina is likely to return to the top 10 later this year (#6 in the race).

This strikes me as an exceptionally strong quarter-final lineup for the week before a major (and not even in the same country!).

True..and it isn't even a 500 pointer..very strange..maybe folks want as many matches as possible on a different surface but don't want to risk a first round exit? Like Badosa....martini4me wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 10:18 am This strikes me as an exceptionally strong quarter-final lineup for the week before a major (and not even in the same country!).
