10%? I would even say 5% but at this level, that is often enough.

ATP M1000 WTA 1000 BNP Paribas Open 3/6 - 3/17 2024
His forehand is a thunderbolt sometimes. He has blasted several down the line past Paul tonight. He can rip it but it’s not his primary weapon or usual shot.ashkor87 wrote:Medvedev does have a big serve but I am surprised anyone thinks he has big shots off the ground..his strength is he can hit them a million times without making a mistake..

that was a great match Sinner-Alcaraz, must have been really something (i saw only highlights) - must have been one of the most entertaining matches of the year

True.. I thought it was just a publicity stunt by Sharapova...anyway. She says all he did was dress up in his button-down shirts and talk about his mother, made her skip rope a lot!meganfernandez wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2024 2:53 amSharapova-Conners didn’t.ashkor87 wrote:I think any change will have that effect, for a week or two..

Now Medvedev vs Alcaraz! a movie we have seen before and will see many times again, I expect.. Alcaraz should win, but it will be fun and close. 65% Alcaraz...my estimate. Paul did a great job of coming to the net and pushing Medvedev back.. Medvedev did pass him many times but I expect Alcaraz will hit better approach shots than Paul could.. and Alcaraz' drop shot is lethal, will win him many points .. and keep Medvedev off-balance and guessing.

Paul might have won the match if he hadn't tweaked his ankle early in the second set tiebreaker.ashkor87 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2024 6:47 am Now Medvedev vs Alcaraz! a movie we have seen before and will see many times again, I expect.. Some numbers for Alcaraz and Sinner:
H2H= 4-4
Sets: 12-12 (50/50)
TB's: 4-3 (Alc-Sin) (57/43)
Total games: 114-129 (Alc-SIn) (47/53)
Total points: 790/832 (Alc-Sin) (49/51)
I am actually surprised by the difference in games. I though it would be less than that. And it seems Sinner needs to work a bit more to win the matches. But, as expected, they are very close.

Seems to have many of the same components of a Federer/Nadal rivalry. Similar dispositions, different enough games where surface can matter, thoughtful men who seem to appreciate their position. I like it.ponchi101 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2024 5:44 pm Some numbers for Alcaraz and Sinner:

Never in doubt victory by Swiatek. She won the last eight games.
