Maybe not. Jokic has won it twice and the NBA likes to spread that one around.

Luka was ice cold in the comeback win yesterday.

Luka can be a total jerk. But I saw the last possession and he just totally toyed with Gobert. Still, going for a three at that moment, when he cold have gone for a two after dribbling past Gobert took a lot of guts, and a bit of luck.
I think he is now one triple double away from matching Oscar Robertson for most triple doubles in post season play.

Would that be in a single post-season?

I think there is a good chance that in 10 years he'll be in the same category as Lebron James and Michael Jordan.

Now that you say it, I don't know. I think it was all time.
Yes, at this rate his numbers may be as good as MJ or Lebron. But let's see how many rings. Otherwise, he will be in the same conversation as Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, Patrick Ewing and such.

All time leaders are Magic Johnson (30) and Lebron James (28). Luka currently at 8 - way too young to be all time anything.

Of course rings will matter. He could still turn out to be "merely" Iverson or Harden. Lots of amazing players in the past who couldn't carry their teams all the way.

Ok. I botched that stat completely. It is most triple doubles with 30 points. And he is now about to tie Jokic and Robertson.
My bad. :)

I think we can now start to analyze Boston vs Dallas. Not exactly the most expected pairing.

Boston is a favorite due to greater depth, but Dallas star duo is better than Boston leaders. All that assuming no injuries to important players.

Dallas management deserves a lot of credit for rebuilding a team around Doncic the last two years. Irving trade of course, but also crucial improvements at this year's trade deadline (Washington and Gafford) + an excellent mid first round draft pick (Lively II) last year.

The trade for Mavs is what put them in the position they are in.

I'll eat my crow. I thought that Kyrie's addition was wrong, because he is also used to hogging the ball. I felt he and Luka would never work it out.
Guess I was totally wrong.
Still, agree with you. Boston is more balanced and has more depth. The perhaps good thing will be that if the Mavs can sweep Minnesota, they get a long rest. Both teams will be healthy and if Luka can continue his ridiculous numbers, the series may be fun.
Celtics in 6

It was risky, but they also didn't have so many other options. Who else at that caliber they could have had mostly for money alone? Without another star level player they had no chance to contend for the title.

Yet another 30+ game by both Doncic and Irving and the final match up is set. :)

I am surprised that it ended that easily. I thought that the Wolves would do one of those "Not on our court" things and push it once more.
I say Celtics in 6. Luka and Kyrie must have monster games, and Jalen and Tatum have to go cold. Will be rooting for the Mavs, of course.

Mavs is a completely different team since the trade deadline. I'd expect them to finish in the top 3 in the West next year.
