Love Emma, but she did not win. Coco lost. She played very poorly.
For a guy that prides himself of having been mentally tough, Gilbert brings very little teaching in that department. You can tell that Coco's serving woes are mental. And Gilbert can't seem able to fix it.
Sabalenka's coach fixed hers. Zverev fixed his own issues. So it can be done.

Truly amazing how Popyrin's game disintegrated in a matter of minutes.
He is back to being Alexei Popyrin before Montreal.

It's going three between Vekic and Zheng Qinwen.
They used to let the fans in the nosebleed seats come down and sit courtside when matches ran this late. It looks like they don't do that anymore.

Comm said it ended ten minutes short of three hours.
Zheng Qinwen won a tough match that was decided by Donna Vekic getting the yips and throwing in back to back doubles and handing Zheng a 5-2 lead in the third set.
I have a feeling these two will be drawn together a lot going forward.

BTW the debate is already starting about the wisdom of scheduling a women's match after a men's match. Sigh. I don't think there's any way a TD wins.
