the last time they played here was 2019, I believe.. Sabalenka beat Alison Riske in the finals... the court looked pretty similar to Beijing.. slow to medium.. just right for Sabalenka..

watched a bit of BHM against Keys.. BHM coming forward fearlessly to the net tends to turn the point into an unruly scramble, an interesting way to disrupt the opponents's rhythm, if nothing else! it worked well for her here..

Of course, Keys is a good volleyer too but she didn't risk everything by charging the net, the way BHM did.

It is unusual to see two tournaments, of equal weight, one after the other, and conditions so similar...IW and Miami aren't quite the same really...nor Qatar and Dubai..the results of Beijing should be replicated, but of course they won't, human beings...!

Ashkor, it was one set, against a player that can play out of her mind at times, after a winning streak of 15 matches. And yes, she lost four games in a row. But she had won four in a row herself to close the second and start the third (I think).

In what way? Just because the tournament starts in a couple week you think we should know whose playing in it? This seems normal for the WTA.

It is normal for the WTA and it's stupid. The same site I use to get all the ATP entry lists used to provide the WTA lists until they cut off access to their information. I really don't understand how the WTA functions in the modern world.

Something is wrong with Samsonova...she is losing match after match to people she would normally defeat easily..injured,? Stale? Maybe she just needs a break...
