I know some of us are watch geeks like me. That said I don't care for the new line. If I ever somehow got a lot of money I would buy either of the old school ones regardless of cost.

I like them. A bit along the line of Cartier's TANKS, with the square casing, but I like the one in blue with the blue strap.
But at $88k, I don't think it delivers. Unless you are talking platinum, but it does not look that shiny.
And, BTW. There is nothing wrong about looking like a Casio. Casio makes some fine watches.

For example. That is the Casio MDV106, a watch designed to withstand 200M depth. It sells for $54 on Amazon which, if you consider price and design, can't be beat. A gorgeous piece, accessible to everybody.

I'm sure they did testing before releasing the new styles. They're just not my cup of tea as the saying goes. If I had $88k to spend on a watch...

I personally would never buy a square(ish) watch. I like a sweeping second hand more than a ticking one. I want 12 or 11 numbers on the face, not Roman. Slim way over bulky. I prefer flexible metal watchbands over animal skins. Swatch watches were fun at the time.

I haven't worn a watch in years, but if I did I'd take the Casio - digital - water resistant - practical - when I break it I can replace it without requiring multiple signatures on financial documents.

We all have a digital watch in our pocket, which is synchronized to a higher degree. Our smartphones have replaced watches too.
So, I wear one out of habit. And the fact that I like watches.

I have a few watches, none worth over a few hundred dollars. I don't want to worry about getting jacked for a watch. I never look at my phone for the time, and if I'm watchless I typically forget my phone can give me the time.

Actually, I wore one at work as a RN on a medsurg unit and it needed to have a second hand. I am not pulling out my phone if I need to take a pulse or coordinate how fast I was pushing an IV med. When I transferred to a behavioral health unit, it wasn't as important. And my smart watch didn't fill the need b/c of the fact that the face didn't stay on long enough to monitor, and if it did, it didn't make it all the way through a shift. So, for me, a watch was a necessity.
