Not that I ever liked her (because she beat Garbie in that final), but you have to feel a bit for Kenin. Tough draws, over and over.

Coco's outfit is a bit... daring.
But it fits her well.

Kenin's outfit was also a bit daring, but her tennis was pretty timid.

Coco was content to just let Sofia spray balls everywhere.

Michelsen was clearly amped down the stretch trying to close it out. Had UFE's on two game points - easy balls that he cranked long.
Then he short armed a first serve trying to serve it out. Came back with a big 2nd and that was that.

I suppose Ostapenko losing to Bencic is not a surprise either. I did expect Azarenka to live up to her seeding...

Ostapenko has been playing poorly again for more than a year. Her ranking is propped up by some random good tournaments, but she is back to being able to lose to anybody, anywhere.

Bencic is the same, even from before her maternity break. Predictably, she lost five match points to send in into the second-set tiebreak, then rallied from 6-4 down to win four straight points to finish off Ostapenko. I would not be surprised if she wins her next match 2 and 2 or loses it 2 and 2.
