Even Osaka says she's nowhere close to her best at the moment. She already said she's not going to grind it out on the tour, so retirement may be close at hand.

We don't disagree by much. I say Key's has a reasonably good chance at the USO, later in the year. Osaka is the one I disagree with. I say she is not a factor at either RG or Wimby, and at the USO she will be less of a factor than Keys.
But yes, they are not high on the list of immediate slam winners.

This has happened a few times with cricket teams touring in India. It's often the water.
From experience elsewhere it's usually the ice cubes. I think most people know not to drink the water but even in a top hotel how are the ice cubes made?

This is also becoming a huge issue in the Asian music industry as a whole. Many acts bypass India for this reason. Coldplay recently played in Mumbai (?) but many big acts won't visit due to infrastructure issues.

Here’s the new schedule for this year’s ATP-WTA 1000 Cincinnati Open, now spread across 14 days instead of its previous 9.

And here’s the corresponding schedule for the preceding WTA 1000 Montreal and ATP 1000 Toronto this year, which end with finals on a *Thursday*.

Medvedev's decline should be another reminder that the average peak age for tennis is in your early-to-mid 20s, not your late 20s. He's actually the 3rd oldest player in the top 25 at age 28. Federer, Djokovic, and Nadal have skewed perceptions of how most players age.

I always commend my friends to watch women,'s doubles to pick up some tips they can directly apply..
One of the tennis podcasts I listen to (there are four I listen with regularity and others sometimes) - I think it's doubles only (or baseline intelligence) - oft talks of this. The recreational doubles player can glean so much more from women's doubles vs men's. It plays much more similar for the reasons you said

Exactly. We have to stop expecting anybody doing what these guys did, or even come remotely close.
Bad news for Zverev, Medvedev, Grigor and all the guys on the way out.

Another week, another Emma "I think playing quallies is not something that I am against" Raducanu wildcard, this time for the Qatar Open starting next week. Guess there are many other ways to get acclimatized.

If he represented the US he may have gotten away with it. *cough* Agassi *cough*

Word on the street is that it may be almost impossible to get WTA entry lists going forward. The situation with the Doha list(s) was ridiculous. This is coming from tennis heads who like me have been posting these lists for a long time but who may have better sources than me. I think China still publishes the lists.
