And she is playing pretty well .she got thrashed by Swiatek but who didn't? Only Keys...
Today she lost to Cristina Bucsa

Close match, though. 5-7, 7-5, 7-5. I used to think the idea that someone won a Slam too early was silly, because you should take it when you can get it. But Clijsters said the same thing about herself on Served this week. Said she wasn't ready, emotionally, to win a Slam when she was losing her first three. She's glad they came later.

I know Emma has said she sometimes wishes she hadn't won the US Open, but I still think that's crazy. Few players ever win a Slam. If that's the only one she wins and she has a roller-coaster Top 50 career the rest of her life, it's still better than most. Still was an incredible accomplishment to win 20 straight sets.

I think she will have some good seasons. More likely than not, just like it was always more likely than not that Sabalenka would win a slam. Plenty of people wrote her off.

I used play (recreationally) at UCLA with my buddy who was a phd student there and we would occasionally see Venus practicing there.

Iowa, wow. Very different than LA! Caitlin Clark's alma mater! She's in Indy now and I'm a big fan.
