What a disaster. I was out for a dinner and thus didn't see it. Clearly that was a good decision.

It was the worst Final Wimbledon, the LTA, the WTA and the USTA could have envisioned taking place especially after Anisimova played so well coming into this Final.
I really felt for Amanda because it was clear that she was in deer-in-headlights mode. She was not moving her feet. She's not fleet footed anyway but she was pretty much standing still on the baseline until a ball came at her. When she got her racquet on one she overhit and missed the court completely. The crowd was trying to boost her but it was no use.
I hope that she realizes that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
Meanwhile when the arguments are being made in the corporate spaces of tennis this Final is going to be Exhibit A as to why women's matches are not given Prime Time exposure and that is truly the tragedy.

Anyone who plays Swiatek needs to start strongly..if you let Swiatek get on top, it is over...once Anisimova began by getting broken....not sure what can be done...if you lose the toss..

I'm pretty sure Sabalenka would have done far better than this...
