I wouldn't have predicted this level from Fritz 2.5-3 years ago. (and didn't)
He was a player who would have languished between 20-40 for a decade.

CONFESSION: "I'm obsessed with the number 1." Remember that? I do. I laughed at him. I mean, I didn't just laugh at the ads. They were barrel laughs. I thought Taylor was completely delusional and full of unwarranted self-aggrandizement.

Barring something extraordinary, he'll never be #1. But I have deep respect for what he has accomplished. He's one of those players where you can say he has honestly maximized his gifts and has made a lot of people, like me, look pretty silly.

I just wanted to own that. In the end, the joke was on me.
