Re: ATP & WTA rankings
Alcaraz and Sinner each have almost twice the amount of points as #3 ranked Zverev. No one is getting near them.

Re: ATP & WTA rankings
They are simply that much better. Unless a young Djokovic pops up, I don't see any of the current players reaching their level.
Maybe Ben. But I don't know what he is missing.

Should concentrate on preparing for the YEC. In reality, their years have been very similar and successful. One more title that matters, that's all.

Re: ATP & WTA rankings
Let's look now at qualification for ATP/WTA finals.
For men I think it's mostly decided already. Musetti and de Minaur are occupying the last two spots. The closest follower (FAA) >500 points behind and others even further. They'd need some mega result in the two upcoming MS tournaments.
For women it's between Rybakina and Paolini for #8 spot with Elena currently leading by about 300 points. Beijing and Wuhan are likely to decide it.

And, as we were discussing his ROTY nomination, I change my position and say that yes, he is it.

Re: ATP & WTA rankings
Other men's ranking notes - Khachanov fell out of the top 10 last week & Holger Rune rose to back to #10 only to fall out of the top 10 for next week along with Jack Draper. Replacing them are Felix Auger-Aliassime, and Casper Ruud.

Re: ATP & WTA rankings
Valentin Vacherot is now top 30 in the live rankings, and that will likely mean that he will be seeded for the Australian Open.

Re: ATP & WTA rankings
Wow, that's just all from winning Shanghai?
And looks like could be top 20 if he somehow won Paris too
Also, apparently he is Rinderknech's cousin ( I may have missed that being mentioned previously though.)

And now Vacherot occupies the section of the Paris draw that Alcaraz was supposed to own. He's the tennis story of the past few months. And for now, he continues to play as if he belongs where he is.

How did you miss that the Shanghai final was the cousin-final? It was all that everyone was talking about.
