Impressive wins by Pegula and Keys..against good players. These faster courts suit Pegula ..she doesn't have to generate her own power

Re: '26 AO Day 5 OoP and Discussion
Stan started his last year with 158 Grand Slam match wins. He is #12 on the all time list. Ahead of him is Boris Becker with 163 wins. With his result in AO he is now only 3 matches shy. If he wins 4 more (say reaches R32 in two of the three remaining slams) he will eclipse Becker. I doubt he will win his next match here though - 5-setter was too taxing for 40 yo.

IMO the shouting between 1st and 2nd serves is very much a hindrance. The fact that this is allowed is a loophole in the rules. I lost a lot of respect for Osaka.

I wasn't as bothered by the "Come ons" as by the post-match interview. Really bad energy, although she did say after she wished she had handled it differently.

Never would have predicted early in his career that Wawrinka would end up with so much relevance.mick1303 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 22, 2026 12:42 pm Stan started his last year with 158 Grand Slam match wins. Shout-out to Karolina Pliskova for the continued comeback success. Plenty of people who thought she either couldn't or wouldn't.
