I bet Sabalenka hit 20 winners in that first set—she is smacking the ball

The most predictable and conventional final is what we're going to get...

Both semi's were anticlimactic. Pegula is trying to hold on serving at 3-5, 30 all but I'm going to bed.

I'm not sure I'm glad I got up to watch these. (I took a nap before.) Pretty predictable actually. I mean I would have loved to see Svitolina come through but the outcome is what I expected.

If we'll look at how Sabalenka-Rybakina H2H is developing - the last 8 matches spanned over 2 years they are taking turns. Now is Sabalenka's turn.

I mean, Rybakina nearly lost that second set. Are we so sure she would have won the third after getting so tight? History says no.

It was good for the final that she won--the two best, most talented players should be playing each other--but it is hard to see her beating Sabalenka. The telling stat is Sabalenka having won 20 consecutive tiebreaks and Rybakina behing 4-under .500 in slam tiebreaks. They probably won't play any tiebreaks, but Sabalenka is so much better in the clutch.

Sabalenka is a betting favorite and rightly so. But it is one of the rare occasions when the match is NOT on her racket. Also you will be wise to remember who exactly broke that streak of Sabalenka winning tiebreaks.

I wish I could get more into this final. Neither are anywhere near being a favorite player of mine.

I don't see that final being in Sabalenka's hand. Not that easily. Elena plays her well. I say the opposite: If Elena comes out serving close to her best, she takes it.
