No way Venus is best dressed. Both Emma and Leylah did better.

After Venus I'd pick Leylah-Annie. Raducanu's outfit just sits there.

Maria's dress is fine, but a bit on a boring side.

I think Venus looks great, but in a Met Gala context, it's not very avant-garde.

With the exception of Serena, Naomi, Maria, and possibly Venus, the tennis players are allowed to look more typical red carpet to me. The lateness of their invites means they couldn't plan for the occasion in the same way the others could.

Not like her look? Sure. But this was a completely expected look, and it's not one that typically registers with Western audiences. It's very much in line with what she's presented professionally and an easy call for the Met Gala. Not sure what you guys were anticipating. The only thing I got wrong was the color palette of the look, the rest was as I thought it would be for her.

And I'd say it's more appropriate to call the Japanese influences in the dress and overall look to be influenced by Kabuki and Kimono styles. But there's also Haitian influences in the dress.
I think the look and even the hair styling is appropriate, I just think it's ugly. Which is on Louis Vuitton not Naomi.

Sorry, those looks are nice, but Venus looks like a queen.

Naomi's look was designed by Louis Vuitton and they posted this. Mari also posted about the design, which she contributed to as well.

Right. Totally appropriate, but like most at the Met Gala, not my taste. But hard to like the full palette of avant-garde designs. I try to just appreciate them like works of art, because they will never all be what I'd choose, actually very few will be and that's the Met Gala.

Also, who is behind the tennis players at the Met Gala? Same as it always is, nothing has changed. Anna Wintour.

I like how you phrased it. It's what Kelly Osbourne meant when she would say people don't understand "fashion".

I also think that after a certain age both men and women need to tone it down a bit even at an event like this. It's why I think Venus, Leylah-Annie and both Felix and Matteo got it. All four of them were age appropriate and looked calm and relaxed in their outfits. Vera Wang should know better. Raducanu, while in Chanel, looked a bit too casual.

Also Anna Wintour would not let you come if you are not vaxxed with valid proof. It's why there are so many people "missing" from the event.

Is it Anna Wintour or the city? It's an indoor event.
