For the first time in many slams there are not 6000 people still alive on Golden Ticket day, only to be immediately decimated. Thanks to Angelique Kerber and Katerina Siniakova, the slaughter happened early on and the floor here will remain relatively clean.

TMQ's husband has tested positive for covid, which has forced TMQ to retreat posthaste to a downstairs lair with 4 small dogs where he will remain for the foreseeable future. Therefore, he is taking the night off from STANKing and DANKing to wrangle slightly put off miniature pinschers and chihuahuas, but will be back tomorrow to don his robe and pass final and correct judgment on your losing pick.

JT, hope your hubbie will do fine and it will be the mild case of C19, nothing major.
TennisLover is the first down today, with Garcia losing. Leemur lives one more day.

I don’t know how the others feel, but I feel like I’m either going to lose out or run out of picks very soon. I am by no means confident in my pick for today (Jabeur), but if I do luck out, I have no idea what pick I could justify the next time we pick in this half. I continue to feel that the women’s SP is the most impossible contest we have, and looking at the favorites who are gone vs. the completely unexpected ones still there, I can take no credit beyond blind luck for still being here.

JT, best wishes to the husband. I had been quite careful, but being twice vaccinated and twice boosted, I really let my guard down at an event in Illinois 3 weeks ago and I got it. My symptoms were so mild that I wouldn’t have gotten tested except that several people I had been close to were testing positive. My entire illness was over in 48 hours, though I did the recommended isolation. Chris did not get it (though also not tested), so I felt good about isolating well enough from him.

Now to watch tennis…..GH

98% of the rest of TAT2.0 feel you are doing great in this pool because 100% of us in that group are dead. You are still alive and kicking.
Sorry to hear about your bout with C19, but glad to hear it was mild and you pulled through.
And glad to see you around here.

And we are down to 4 and it will definitely go down to 3 with either Niemeirer or Watson saying good bye.

So unless Jabeur loses which I doubt but the way things have gone in this tournament you never know it will be down to 3 .
