Martic is playing really well and about to bounce Badosa. She hasn't been broken in three sets. I don't see why she can't beat Azarenka and Bencic and make the quarters vs Sabalenka, Cornet or Collins.

Coric's loss is an example of how the sport is being played today. A recent winner of a MS1000, playing very good tennis, and then, unable to keep the level.

Me neither, but it doesn't mean that she will. Could just as easily lose to all four players (Azarenka, Benicic, Pliskova and Bouzkova) standing between her and QF's.meganfernandez wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 6:47 pm Martic is playing really well and about to bounce Badosa. Apparently James Blake told John McEnroe that Sam Querrey is going to move to the pickleball circuit. I can't tell if it's a joke or not.

During the match--he took an awkward fall backwards and put his hands down to brace himself

Right now, I'd take Martic over any of those women if they played tomorrow. Of course, Martic might not be able to replicate this form, but I like her chances of her first semi. She's serving great. I know Martic has been in this position several times and she doesn't come through, but you never know, one of these times if she keeps putting herself in position. Just very impressive from what I saw in the third set.Suliso wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 6:56 pmMe neither, but it doesn't mean that she will. I missed that (about Isner's fall). Amazing that he could finish the match.

Badosa out. 5 of the top ten seeds are gone, and we have not finished the second round.

Before today I've never heard of Eubanks or seen him play so for whatever reason I assumed he's a small guy. Turns out he's actually Isner like.

Yes, but you didn't include her in your poll and for a good reason. I also wouldn't have.

Oh, sure. She has no business winning here.
The poll is being prescient, in a bad way. Not only this top 5, but some other choices are also gone. And the issue is how early they are losing. One thing is not believing Badosa would not win; another is 2R loss.

I just love the morbidity of it. I haven't seen the right, red, and blue version. Sounds appalling.meganfernandez wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 6:38 pmI like the black and gold version better than the red, white and blue version.

Meanwhile, Grigor has ditched his vomit-colored attire for something more basic.
