I wonder if his 'slump' is related in some way to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The timing seems right...
Maybe he's being treated differently by some fans and/or peers?
Maybe he's worried about his family in Russia?
Maybe he has a close relative in the Russian 'army'?

He had a hernia. Needed to be operated.
