Are you trolling me?
Yes. You had some snark coming to you. :D
why? instead of appreciating my being right about Alexandrova..? what kind of tennis forum is this anyway? is it a troll platform?
WELL, you won't see this apparently, since you have decided, rather than to have a conversation about this with me directly, to block me as a "troll". Nevertheless- clearly, this troll, and others in here, HAVE proven you wrong about Alexandrova (at least for now), via factual match results data, vs. Pegula and otherwise. Thing is....well, ahem, ahem, let's just say, IF a nameless NON-troll anyone just posts every possible tennis match scenario in here (Parks' imminent Wimbledon title, for example- albeit, btw, I'd love it if she DID win Wimbledon one year)- sure, odds are, at some point, you'll make a correct assertion here and there. But- this does not make you as some kind of clairvoyant tennis expert. And, almost everyone else in here will admit when they are "wrong"- because it is also very, very easy to be wrong about tennis matches as of late. A little bit of self-deprecation and humility can work in here. But, what do I know? I'm just a troll. :gorgeous:

....Concerning another matter, I kinda figured that the winner of Kvitova/Cirstea match is gonna be the sacrificial lamb to Rybakina tomorrow. Still, very well done. So nice to see Petra (albeit, however very, very temporarily) playing much more up to her abilities.

Not so fast.
Yes, if I had $100 and I must bet on somebody, I am picking Elena. But Elena is not playing GREAT tennis. Last night against Pegula she was all over the place (her shots). She even started talking to her coach and team, OUTLOUD, turning around and making STRAIGHT EYE CONTACT WITH THEM, which, for her, it is the sort of mental meltdown that in distant times would have had people dressed in white come to the court and put her in a straight jacket and lead her to a room to be doused with a cold water hose. FOR HER (other players would have been applauded for proper manners).
If she gives Petra 39 UE's, Petra has a chance. And notice that she (Elena) is roughly averaging 20 UE's per set against good players (69 UE's vs Badosa, in three sets).
So, at the very least, put a little bottle of :champagne: in the fridge. You may get to use later in the day tomorrow.

Extraordinarily high quality stuff from both players thus far...

Good returning from Sinner in the first set, but not enough at the business end to get it done.

Chase commercial question: does anyone actually want a coffee grinder that automatically orders beans for them?

Alcaraz tweaked his wrist and now has lost quite a bit of power on his backhand.

But Sinner hits every ball the same, and Carlitos does not. He will (most likely) win it.
Looks like Sinner is going to get it done - Alcaraz running out of gas.
