I also did not realize that she was 28 already. That window will not be open for too long.
But she is playing top 10 tennis. Maybe even top 5.

Muchova's game is a treat for the eyes. Good that she starts to get results.

Qinwen's match vs Mirra Andreeva was very physical and if she'd won vs Muchova I would've been very surprised.

if we go by the past, and h2h record, Coco should win. My tennis insinct tells me Muchova is the better player right now, on this slower surface, should win.
what do you think?

Muchova is playing very tight to open the match, and Gauff is just letting her miss.

About to end, and very surprised by the score. I thought Muchova was playing at a better level this week.
And the court speed thing, here it goes. It makes no difference for players at this level. They all know how to adjust to the slight difference. These are just the normal fluctuations in their games, and it seems to me that today, Muchova is just a bit off. And that is enough for this score.
I said she was playing top 5 tennis, a couple of days ago. Well, she is not today, and her standard deviation in quality of game is this wide.

I feel like many of Coco's wins, later into tournaments, rely on more than usual errors from her opponents.skatingfan wrote: ↑Sun Oct 06, 2024 11:42 am Muchova is playing very tight to open the match, and Gauff is just letting her miss.
