by ponchi101 I hope ESPN down here will stick around for some women's doubles.

by Cuckoo4Coco Going to cheer on Norrie to defeat Novak.

I am also going to try and watch the Girls Junior SF's between Udvardy and Klimovicova. Then the other between Hovde and Mboko.

by ponchi101 Do you know if Udvardy (Luca) is related to Petra Udvardy, in the main draw?

Yep her older sister is Panna Udvardy.

by ashkor87 Nice to see Siniakova and Krejcikova back together and doing well..

by ponchi101 That's it. This match is over. Norrie in straights :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:
(This prediction brought to you at 1-0, first set ;) )

by ashkor87 The Brits love him but Norrie isn't Wimbledon semifinalist material.

Would you reconsider if he were to somehow beat Djokovic?

by Cuckoo4Coco Looks like Norrie is about to take the 1st set.

Once again I am gonna miss most of this match because I am about to head out on the court myself for practice. I hope I come back and see that Norrie has kept up this play and won the match.

Then, how come he is in the semi-finals? He won his five matches, a couple were hard fought. He is playing a clean match, and won a set already from a 6 times champion, still very much at the top of his game.

by ashkor87 He is just not that good. My judgement, that is all.

His shots, movement, don't give the impression of a top-notch player.

He is in the semis, no question but has he beaten anyone really good? Sometimes one can reach the semis with a good draw....

by ponchi101 It was a good draw. I would say his victory over Goffin was a good one.
I agree that his game is a bit odd; his BH, to me, is diabolical (because I am fond of one handed BH's). But, hey, he is a top ten player, and he made it here. And he has been climbing up the rankings slowly, the last few years.

by ashkor87 Goffin was never a great player and he is way past his best now..so I repeat- Norrie was lucky with his draw

by ashkor87 I won't be able to watch the finals but if Djokovic plays like he did today, Kyrgios will beat him.

by Cuckoo4Coco I only saw the first set where Norrie won and it seemed to me that Novak was feeling things out at first and then he must have picked it up to win the next 3 sets.

The main thing for Novak in the final against Nick Kyrgios is how he is going to return his huge serve. If that becomes a problem for him then Novak is in trouble. If he finds a way to handle it then he should win the match.

by nelslus BUT, with Krygios' shoulder issues- how big will he be able to serve? Having a few days off can't hurt.

I still think pretty darn big.

by mick1303 Once in a while very unexpected players make GS semis. Vladimir Voltchkov, anyone?

Had to look him up. Totally forgot about him. You are right.
And: Jerzy Janovwicz, at the time we all thought he was going to go very far.

by Cuckoo4Coco Oh yeah, Good Old Vlad and Jerzy. I remember them both well.

by jazzyg Norrie is not a superstar but he will be underrated for his entire career.

His draw was good, but I watched him win 14 of the last 16 games against Steve Johnson in the third round and beat Tommy Paul in straight sets while playing beautiful tennis. I have always felt that people make ironclad judgments on players and then refuse to watch them play, because it is hard for me to see how anyone could have watched Norrie at Wimbledon and not been impressed.

He does not have the weapons of a slam champion, but he is getting the most out of the game he has and is a winner. I expect him to be in another slam semi in the next few years.

by jazzyg FAA, meannwhile, will be Wimbledon's biggest loser if Djokovic beats Kyrgios.

FAA lost to Cressy who lost to Sock who lost to Kubler who lost to Fritz who lost to Nadal who defaulted against Krygios.

by ponchi101 Thanks for saving me the time to figure that one out ;)

by Irena2 LADIES' INVITATION DOUBLES - ROUND ROBIN
K. Clijsters (BEL)/M. Hingis (SUI) v V. King (USA)/Y. Shvedova (KAZ)

My favorite match of the day. Great to see King/Shvedova on the court. Shvedova is one of my favorite players ever. Watched that golden set against Errani with amazement way back when!
