by Togtdyalttai Welcome to the true losers' lounge, where if losses happen involving players you picked, you'll be on cloud nine. A pick tracker is now up and will be updated daily, and scoreboards will be updated after the finish of each round.

Togtdyalttai Note: I'm projecting Carballes Baena as the winner over Munar. I'm not sure why they stopped playing.
No contestant was able to score a perfect 20 for the first round. Deelighted2 was almost there, finishing with 19, with sokol and Vexchaps on their heels. Scores as a whole were fairly low, with 6 contestants at 10 points or lower.

by patrick Rain is the reason why 3 matches were carried over.
by patrick My ATP number 1 saved multiple match points to keep me from 20.
by
ponchi101 And I did so well at Wimbledon...

Togtdyalttai Jeff in TX had the best second round, with 13 points, but he's still one point behind the leaders deelighted2 and sokol, who have 30. Jeff is also the only contestant with at least 6 picks left, while dave g is the only other one with at least 5. At the other end of the scoreboard, all contestants have entered double digits, and all still have at least one pick remaining. We'll see if they can keep that up for another round...

by dave g A lot of points worth picks won. There is a fairly large drop off of points won from Round 1 to Round 2. I had thought that I was out of it for only having 12 points from Round 1, but now it looks like I have a chance if I picks continue to hold for another 2 rounds.
by weefunk In round 1, Zhizhen Zhang lost to Tim van Rijthoven, but the pick tracker has him winning. This affects my score--I should have 15 points for round 1, rather than 13, and 7 for round 2, rather than 5 (Van Rijthoven lost to Ruud in the 2nd round.) Not enough to help my pretty mediocre showing, but thought I'd point it out.

Togtdyalttai I apologize for missing a round. The pick tracker and scoreboard are now updated.
Vexchaps, who has not lost a pick in two rounds, is now in the lead with 47. Jeff from TX is still near the lead in second, but has faded fast. Deelighted2 and sokol are tied for third one point behind. Vexchaps is the only contestant with ore than two picks left, and scored four points higher than any other contestant in the round.
IronMike finished last for the contest with a not-too-shabby 12. Many contestants are now out of picks, including him.

Togtdyalttai Going into the semifinals, the picture for the contest is quite clear: only three contestants have a pick remaining, deelighted2, motobass, and patrick. Unfortunately for deelighted2, their pick is shared with motobass, and motobass is ahead by one point. Therefore motobass is the favorite to win at this juncture. But patrick can still take the medal if Iga Swiatek loses in the women's final.

ponchi101 SO, motobass is going for the Wimby/USO double! That's impressive
by

I'm sure this was how he played it out in his head... but this is also his THRNY win scenario
by
PeterSkan
Also threatening to snag the USO SKAN contest ...

Togtdyalttai Going into the finals, patrick and motobass are still fighting it out. A win by Iga Swiatek in the women's final will give the medal to motobass, while one by Ons Jabeur will make patrick the winner.
One possible wooden spoon winner for each of the men and women are represented in our contestants' picks. Motobass holds Federico Delbonis, who will be the ultimate loser if Casper Ruud wins the men's final, while patrick has Lesia Tsurenko, who will take the spoon if Ons Jabeur wins the women's championship. The other possible spoon winners are Simona Halep (!) for the women and Ben Shelton for the men.

by motobass Funny enough, if Ons wins, I may get medal for the SKAN contest, possibly. What a position to be in - not sure who to root for (Ons, actually).

How can we win Jack when stuff like this happens
She was the second betting favorite before the tournament began!

The reason all these contests are so insane.
Halep did not take down anybody with her because, of course, nobody took her in the SP. But she was in a lot of Skan tests, and indeed, who could have guessed she could have been a wooden spoon?
by Togtdyalttai Congratulations, motobass! Your medal has been awarded. I'll post a final scoreboard and pick tracker tomorrow along with a final recap.
by motobass Thanks Togtdyalttai! Unreasonably happy about this!
by
ponchi101 That is three wooden spoons, two in a row.
Maybe we have to give you a fork and a knife too...
by
Irena2 Woot!
Next time I should sneak a look at your draw sheet before you enter your picks

Togtdyalttai A final scoreboard and pick tracker are up. A recap will follow in a separate thread.
