Haven't been watching but is Tauson coming of age now...it has been a couple of years since she was a junior champion..time seems about right .beating Begu and Giorgi is commendable..

I would normally expect the new improved Vekic to beat Sakkari but I fear this court is very slow ..not sure whom it will help..The AO was much faster than this one..can't go by that performance

Tauson has been stuck in place for a while, after she showed great promise a couple of years ago. Maybe she needed some adjustments; I hope she is ready to move on.

Very interesting second set. Martic won the first set 6-4 and was up 4-0. Tauson was in the middle of a meltdown ( she started arguing with the chair in the first set about noise) and looked done for. It's now 5 all second set but Martic breaks to love to take the lead for 6-5 and will serve for the match.

Martic closes it out easily 6-4, 7-5 over Tauson. She'll face Saqqari tomorrow.

Young Tauson's behaviour has been somewhat petulant on several occasions. It seems as if she possesses a degree of entitlement. That's not a good attitude to have at the start of one's career.
Entitlement is never a good thing, of course... but it's a particularly negative trait to have at the beginning of one's career, when you've not proven a thing at the pro level.
Maybe someone needs to sit her down and have an honest talk about what her true place in the sport is at this moment.

Of course, not seeing her, but that is one of my favorite combinations, and one I don't think I am so bad at. Drop, come to net, and hit a lob volley over my opponent.
You have to punch it up, though. Lots of people only block it, and the ball then sits up for the smash.
