Corentin Moutet gets a penalty point at 6-5 *30-0 down...

Mannarino 7-5.

Moutet was 5-2* 40-0 and started being upset with the court.

If only tennis had a system in which you would like, I don't know, switch sides with frequency so that any uneven issues regarding the court would be split by the players.
It would be such a step forward.

Eubanks seals the deal rather easily. A very good week.
Let's see how the whole "playing the week before a slam" works for him.

OH, now, REALLY. Listen up here, Moaning Myrtle- there is nothing but joy about this result. LEAVE EUBANKS ALONE!!!! :gorgeous:

This is yet another great result from a player we've followed since Eubanks was playing in Winnetka, IL. AND, Yuki Bhambri, another Winnetka graduate, won in the doubles at Mallorca.

I've said it many times- it is so exciting (see: Ram, Rajeev) when you get the chance to follow players for years through the scrub tournaments have terrific results.

I'm rooting for him to do well at W. I am no fan of the "Oh, I need to rest the week before a slam because god forbid I play 5 80-minute matches the week before!".
You know my opinion of load management.

LOL, AND of course, in general, I am a big fan of my favorites NOT playing the week before a Slam. (*I was SHRIEKING at Petra to drop out this week- which, wisely, she did). (Not that it'll make any difference with Petra's inevitable 2R loss, of course. But, still. :gorgeous: :gorgeous: ) The only exceptions that I'd make for top players would be, if you need match practice really badly, and/or you need to try to find some confidence- then, go for it.

HOWEVER- I don't think even Eubanks would have been thinking- I DARE not risk my chances of winning Wimbledon by playing the week before. If you truly have no shot at a major- hey, play away- especially with many top players not playing, dropping out and flaming out. I mean, he's now at #43, which is amazing. I'd love to see Eubanks win a bunch of Wimbledon matches. But, in this tournament, it's all gravy for Eubanks.
