We lost another 9 to no picks and had 1 zombie, so we are down to 85, with the number dropping as the results from the earlier rounds sort out. Perhaps today we'll finish with the first round so that I can present the first issue of the long-awaited Wimbledon edition of STANK or DANK.

Note: We seem to be losing a larger-than-usual number of players to no picks in our 2023 edition. TMQ regrets both the hellish flood being unleashed over London and the inefficient scheduling policies of the tournament, including the baffling decision to continue to not start play on the show courts until 1 pm, when two full matches could already be in the books by then. However, as much I would like to control the weather and/or take over the scheduling from stodgy old men who adhere to weird traditions for no apparent reason beyond stubbornness, neither things are unfortunately true. The rain keeps on raining. The order of play release is being pushed out farther and farther each day. Just know that if there are eligible matches to be played, you will be expected to pick from them. I'll do the best I can, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check if your picks are winning, and looking at the schedule when it comes out. Best of luck, and remember to make your picks!

OK, after my breakdown, I present to you another one:

Beatriz Haddad Maia 29
Anastasia Potapova 26
Caroline Garcia 6
Barbora Krejcikova 6
Katie Boulter 5
Jessica Pegula 3
Donna Vekic 3
Magda Linette 2
Anett Kontaveit 1
Veronika Kudermetova 1
Rebecca Masarova 1
Alona Ostapenko 1

I might just stop picking because I can't beat having 3 correct picks in a span of 4 hours

I don't know how I escaped that one. Just about the only tennis that I have been able to watch was Vekic losing the first set and going down a break. I was surprised to find out that I had not been booted out of the pool.

I was guessing that this is because of the ticket holders? They were sold tickets to a session at a specific time. The session can't start early because they might not realize it, and miss some matches.... but even that explanation doesn't make a lot of sense, given how backed up the tournament is in this weather.

Hi, just looking at the Womens Day 5 pick thread, we are allowed to pick a R64 matchup for a third day?

This will likely go down as our greatest day in SP history because of it :)

Even funnier I had two of my men's pick win...unfortunately my day 1 pick lost yesterday.

Yes, because they were all unscheduled until yesterday's OOP came out

Only 2 no picks today, plus 1 zombie, so I count 72 players remaining for Day 5

The breakdown is decidedly lopsided

Ekaterina Alexandrova 28
Jule Niemeier 13
Madison Keys 6
Belinda Bencic 5
Irina-Camila Begu 4
Ons Jabeur 4
Jessica Pegula 4
Caroline Garcia 2
Paula Badosa 1
Anhelina Kalinina 1
Tamara Korpatsch 1
Petra Kvitova 1
Aryna Sabalenka 1
Donna Vekic 1

Don't look now, bandwagon, but Alexandrova is down a set and a break to...wait for it...Madison Brengle.

I don't dare wish for anything at the risk of jinxing my own pick. Though every SP deserves at least one day with, ehm, a little surprise...
