Honestly that is a word salad. To my knowledge she's never given specifics of what her "injuries" are. If I'm wrong about that I apologize.nelslus wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 8:25 pmFrom the US Open website, and, to quote....
“Unfortunately, I have to withdraw from my match today due to my injuries," Rybakina said in a statement. "I did not want to finish the last Grand Slam of the year this way but I have to listen to my body, and I hope I can close out the remainder of the year strong.
"Thank you to all the fans who have and continue to support me, and I wish the remaining players good luck.”

Nobody withdraws from a slam match, especially when you are a favorite, without something major hurting.
But she is so quite maybe she has kept it all to herself. And her team.

Mertens has no weapons of any kind, of course against Keys, she doesn't need any..

Does anyone know the cause of the medical time out in the Keys vs Mertens match at 3-2 in the third set?

Just saw Mertens hit a return that Keys didn't even try to go after. Her right upper thigh is heaviy taped. It's 3 all 0-40 for Keys who is serving.

Looking forward to Shnaider-Pegula next round..Pegula is the benchmark, if you are a great player, you should beat Pegula..if you are just a very good player, you cannot. How good is Shnaider? Is she potentially Tier 1,? I think she may be, we will soon see. 50-50 as of now for this match...

For those of us that like Emma, it is not sad.
I don't think Coco is that wounded. Her matches have been alright. Sometimes, you only need a couple of matches to get yourself going.

watched every point of Pegula's match - hoping to see what is so special about her. Regret to say, couldnt see anything. steady, consistent, good serve, good mover - no UFEs but top 6 player in the world?! No way.

If you disagree with me, please check how many GS semis Pegula has been to in her entire career...you may be surprised.

And yet she's been top 6 for a while - Grand Slams are just 4 tournaments a year.
