by meganfernandez Sinner looks a little tired in this second set. Keys playing great. Rybakina maybe hurt.

by meganfernandez Sinner struggling with the heat. Rune needs to extend points but he keeps letting Sinner off the hook by going for too much too soon.

by meganfernandez Great win by Maddie in 3. Davenport (I think) said it helps her a lot to have Bjorn on the court. Helps with her nerves.

Sinner is wounded today and Rune can’t take advantage.

Not able to watch so this kind of succint report is great

by patrick Speaking of Rune, why was he granted a medical timeout after he lost serve and Sinner to serve for set 3 at 5-3? This needs to stop, Understand more on a changeover

by Owendonovan Sinner busted the screw that holds the center tape to the ground serving. Is that a first or second serve when they come back? It was a fault, but the equipment broke because of it.

by Suliso Tien couldn't beat Sonego either. Perhaps we underestimated Lorenzo.

Tien played a close to five hour match earlier this week. I doubt he had any legs left and really would've been surprised if he'd won this match.

by ti-amie Monfils and Shelton have played three TB sets in 2h43m. Shelton has won two of them.

by ti-amie Monfils retired. He won an event before the start of the AO and had played well here. Sigh. It'll always be what could have been when it comes to him.

by JTContinental There have been at least 400 breaks of serve in this Navarro/Kasatkina match

by JTContinental There are also 46 deuces before each break

by ti-amie This Navarro/Kasatkina game 8 third set.

by ti-amie Michelson down 0-3 to de Minaur first set.

by ti-amie Navarro def Kasatkina in 2h40m 6-4, 5-7, 7-5.

Michelson dropped the first set 0-6 to de Minaur.

by ponchi101 Being a fan of Rybakina remains a painful experience.
I know, Maddy played those last games very well. But Elena was well in control in the 3rd and then the wheel came off.
She may end up with that W alone.

by mick1303 I looked up and was surprised that Sonego's career win-loss percentage is well below 50%. In fact it is even below 48%. But then I decided to look up all the players who ever reached GS quarters and what are their career percentages. Turned out - nothing out of the ordinary happened. Out of 383 players who reached QF in the Grand Slams there are 61 players with career win-loss percentage lower than that of Sonego.

Navarro-Kasatkina was painful to watch, for me. Navarro has to be more aggressive is she's going to take the next step, and improve her serve, too. How Kasatkina wins matches confounds me. She has excellent control and anticipation, and some variety, but she never looks like she's in good shape and her serve is very weak.

by ponchi101 The thing about tastes.
I liked Emma vs Daria. Problem is they are both retrievers, and could not hit a ball past the other.
But yes, both their serves need more pop. I think Navarro has a very good motion, but I don't know how she can get more speed on it.

Roddick talked about this on his podcast - about how most players outside the top 30 do not have winning records (most seasons or for career)

If one player gets to escape the heat inside, the other one should be able to.
