I love Anisimova’s game and want her to do well, but her negative energy on court is hard to watch. She mentioned it today after the match, saying she tries to keep it in check these days, but every time I see her play she is grumpy and yelling at herself.

And losing to Siegemund only adds to that narrative. Because it was not that she lost, it was the score. 3 & 3? Wow!
Broken 5 times. Served 70%, which is good, but was 1/19 on second serve points. Dreadful. Siegemund is a tough out. I don’t think it’s a terrible loss. Disappointing, though.

I think she is more than a forehand. Serve is usually a weapon and her backhand is more than solid.
Her serve is better than good. Her FH is gorgeous. The BH is solid. The net game is solid too. She is fast.
She should have more hardware.

Oh I thought you meant more than one weapon, not more than one Slam! My bad. I agree. She doesn’t seem confident at net to me, though.

True enough, I was commenting only on overblown expectations of her on grass. Her defence, ability to get low, aren't good enough at W. Even Davenport makes the same mistake - as a W champion herself, she should know better...

The whole fifth set tiebreak was one of the most entertaining tiebreaks I've seen in a while. I'd argue that probably wasn't the best point of the tiebreak either. There were one or two earlier in the breaker that were just... well... jawdroppingly entertaining. And Borges won those points after falling behind by a sizeable deficit. Really good stuff.
