Sinner doesn't have the heart of a champion, only the game of a champion

Oh, c'mon. That is also too harsh. You don't win 4 slams without having a lot of guts. He just lost in 5 sets to the GOAT, and a player that was as rested as can be. Novak had played 2 sets in six days. He was fresh.
These are the losses that will come if you play long enough and are successful enough. Every once in a while, things will not go your way. Today, he could not decipher Novak. No shame there.

I'd say Sinner beats Djokovic 99% of the time if they played a more or less equal amount of time during a tournament. That just wasn't the case this time.

And. I know that because it was Zverev, this will not be mentioned. But he was right about the MTO for cramping. That is not allowed, and it is clearly stated in the rules.
Why make rules if then they are applied in a discretionary way?

It would be nice for the tournament/Australia if the Australian wild cards Kubler/Polmans take the mens doubles title.

Sinner is now 0-9 in matches that go 3:50 or longer, but I guarantee you that will change significantly down the road.

You mean as in, 0-18 when his career is over?
Interesting stat.

Remember the FO 25..same thing happened..when it got close, he could not raise his game. I stand by my comment. The heart of a champion...Rybakina does not have it either..if it gets close, Saba will win ..Ryba will win only if she can blow her away.ponchi101 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 30, 2026 3:11 pm Oh, c'mon. If Djokovic wins the final - this is historic. If however this was just to clear the path for Alcaraz - it's just awful...

Yes. But I also remember the 2024 Aussie open final, when he was the one that was down two sets to none. Against a guy that use to have his number.
And that is also quite the statement about Elena. I am not saying she is a mental giant, but when she won Wimby, she came back from one set down. Against a pretty good competitor.

Which was immediately proven wrong on this occasion.

Not putting you on here. But.
Don't you think that reconsidering your position on Rybakina is not due? I mean, you said she did not have the heart of a champion. She then goes to lose 5 straight games, is down 3-0 in the third (granted, only one break) and she comes back to win 6 of the next 7 games, against the world #1.
Surely you will at least consider the recent data.
