Where?
I happen to live currently in Silver Bay.
Hibbing
Hmm. I think a man named Robert Zimmerman grew up in Hibbing.

I think this schedule is easier to follow.

JD Vance Booed at Olympic Opening Ceremony in Milan

Before the event, protesters marched in Milan in opposition to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, whose personnel are in Italy to advise local officials in securing the Winter Games.

San Siro stadium in Milan broke out in scattered boos as Vice President JD Vance appeared on huge screens there during an opening ceremony for the Winter Games, an indication of the fury in Italy over the Trump administration’s policies.

Near the end of the ceremony’s lengthy Parade of Nations, the U.S. delegation of athletes, decked out in white Ralph Lauren coats, entered the stadium to cheers and whistles. But the crowd’s mood seemed to shift when the screen switched from the athletes to the stands, where Mr. Vance and his wife, Usha Vance, were waving small American flags.

Their appearance on the screens lasted for only a few seconds but was met with a smattering of jeers and boos that were audible despite the loud music playing for the parade.

Mr. Vance arrived in Milan earlier this week and has been watching U.S. athletes compete. He was in the crowd for a U.S. women’s hockey game on Thursday and at a figure skating team event on Friday. He often speaks publicly and posts comments on social media in support of President Trump, criticizing NATO and its member nations; defending the administration’s capture of the Venezuelan president, Nicolás Maduro, in a military operation; and pressing an immigration crackdown in the United States that has often turned brutal and has at times involved fatalities.

Hours before the opening ceremony at San Siro stadium, protesters took to the streets of Milan to condemn the presence of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement personnel in Italy, which U.S. officials have said was “to vet and mitigate risks from transnational criminal organizations” and not to carry out immigration enforcement.

Canadian TV broadcast it live and continues to show it in their online video. The commentators acknowledged the booing during the broadcast.

The team Olympic trials was in Halifax in November, so my claim to "fame" was me and son rode and elevator with the female (Jocelyn Peterman) of the mixed team, and then said good luck to the male (her husband Brett Gallant) for the men's team final - he won that too so he will be competing in mixed and team event.

Almost a Glenn Harmon story. Hope he is well - miss "seeing" him here on the boards.
It seems like time is going backwards towards 1984 . . . :freaking:

He didn’t make his yearly Nova Scotia visit this year. Must be because our favorite fish and chips place closed.

Just saw the Lindsay Vonn news… yikes.

Meanwhile after a 3-0 start the mixed curling Canadians are now 3-4 and may miss playoffs.

This is what Hess said: “It brings up mixed emotions to represent the US right now. I think it’s a little hard. There’s obviously a lot going on that I’m not the biggest fan of. Just because I wear the flag doesn't mean I represent everything that's going on in the US.”
