by ponchi101 Our apologies for the late opening. We were disinfecting the entire place.
Please: wear your mask at all times, until you need to start crying because of your lousy pick. DO NOT blow your nose into it.
Keep your distance. Best way to avoid crowded tables: DO NOT CLIMB ON SHAKY Bandwagons, and if so, jump before you reach the cliff.
If you are not vaccinated, please let us know so we can introduce you to our friends at BF.
Now, we know YOU ALL WILL BE HERE, sooner rather than later. So, get one of our rapid test kits, make sure you are not showing symptoms, and get ready to suffer. Name of the game!
by Irena2 I forgot what time it was and forgot to pick! Therefore, here I sit, ruefully, with a vegemite sandwich. My AO was done before it began...sounds familiar....
by motobass Yup. Missed picking by 2 hours.
by catman Whoo hoo! I lasted 45 minutes longer than the no-pickers. If I hurry, maybe I can catch a ride to the airport with Novak.

Sorry for you. Get some
by texasniteowl Also double cheeked for a great start to the year!
by mmmm8 In lieu of our usual Jukebox from Hell, we'll be playing a recorded livestream of people commenting on the livestream of Djokovic's court hearing (because the official livestream is no longer available) on a loop for the duration of the tournament. If that doesn't sedate the most violent of our losers, nothing can.
BONUS!!!!
For those poor souls who are here early, here is a livestream of the sky that will show Djokovic's plane landing in Belgrade:
by ponchi101 He looks in fairly good shape, for somebody that was "assassinated"...

That's what they said about Jesus 3 days later, too! Coincidence?
by Liamvalid Eh you wait months for a SP to start, then go out on day 1 to a WC.
Love the name of the bar though
by ashkor87 Kokkinakis! Beginner''sistake!
by atlpam Double-cheeked on Day 1 - at least I can drown my sorrows and leave before it gets crowded. Good thing I double-masked; I can use one as an eye mask when I want to sleep it off. Bring me something cold with a high alcohol content to kill off any uninvited microbes.
by joanjettson It took me about 24 hours (im on vacation!) But i see what you did with Kanga Rue - nice!

by catman I think my two SP picks will rack up more losses than my eight YCWJ picks. I think for that level of ineptitude I should receive a free entry in Paris.

I see your point but... if it were due to ineptitude, the competition is strong here.
by the Moz I went out in both on Day 1 as well and drank a bottle of cheap white

Or tortured, according to his father.
by karlovicfanclub I've gone out on the first day of the men's pool two years in a row. Both times, I foolishly made the mistake of picking an Aussie. So much for home support! If I do this again next year, I will be sentenced to having to spend the rest of my life watching videos of Djokovic bouncing the ball endlessly before finally serving it.

I will make a note for the '23 Aussie and, if you pick a local... you asked for it
by JTContinental Anisimova looked great today as she knocked me out of the pool.

Didn't see the match, but was wondering if it was Anisimova playing well, or Bencic playing poorly. I was knocked out too, and I thought this was a fairly safe pick.
by ponchi101 Some of us used her on day 1. Wonder how badly that will come to bite us now.
by ptmcmahon With Osaka and Barty as her next possible opponents it ... seems ... not likely.
by dave g Not unhappy that I went out on the women's side due to a blister (Radunacu), as opposed to a really stupid pick (Harris).
by ponchi101 Woke up to the disagreeable news that Grigor has gone so far down in quality that he can't even beat a man that always plays at 50%
I don't know if I am angrier at Grigor or at Paire. After all, Paire won, but what a time to really try to play. I guess damn them both!
by wadetj Manarino beat Karatsev in 4 sets- I thought Karatsev would handle him easy. So Iām out. But hey good to see Manarino move forward - a crafty and wily veteran
by ponchi101 I can't believe this place got crowded so fast...
I guess it is beers for everyone.

by mmmm8 May I have a big bucket of Ouzo? No, I'm certainly not planning to drown anyone in it, of course not.
