by ashkor87 FAA -Cressy is the only one that jumps out at me as a potential first round upset..

by meganfernandez Alcaraz didn't play a grass-court tune-up, did he? Faces a big server out of the gate.

Murray, Djokovic and Wawrinka in the same section - the 2016 Special. Murray-Isner R2...

So great to see a seed next to Botic's name.

Very curious to see if Beethoven Van Rijthoven can keep his level from s'Hertogenbosch.

by ponchi101 Tricky for Alcaraz because Struff has a huge serve.
Ruud will make it to R2 because he faces another clay courter in R1, then he could be out.
Cressy/FAA. Best of 5, FAA will get used to the serve. I hope not because I have Cressy in my GA team, but over 5 sets, I think Felix will prevail.
Rafa/Matteo in the SF. I say Matteo. If Rafa keeps his return position for the tournament, Matteo's serve will be too much.

by ti-amie Alcaraz played a grass exho with his right arm heavily taped. I meant to post the picture. I'll see if I can find it now.

by Cuckoo4Coco In this draw there are 3 players that I could choose from. One that I hope will win, one that I think will have a chance to win, and one that will probably win. The player that I hope wins and has the most outside chance to win is Félix Auger-Aliassime. The player that I think really has that chance to win and I will be cheering for to really pull it off is Matteo Berrettini. Then there is the obvious choice that is probably going to win it all and that is Novak Djokovic.

by ponchi101 But if you are rooting for FAA, why aren't you cheering for him as opposed to Berrettini? Felix made the semis last year, losing precisely to Berrettini, and now has one more year of experience and training. Sure, he starts with Cressy (that's a tough one) but I say he does not have way more less of a chance than Matteo. A say a little less, but sure, I can see him in the conversation of 2nd tier contenders.

I think if it did come down to a match between FAA and Berrettini, I would be cheering for FAA. I would see him as a slight underdog to Berrettini so it is also always fun to root for the underdog. I still think he would struggle in that match, but if it came down to that I would cheer for him. I would much rather see FAA or Berrettini than Djokovic or Nadal in the Final.

by Fastbackss Well Berrettini also coming down with Covid will throw a wrench in the draw

Excellent for Rafa. And Berrettini might not be the last one to get Covid here.

by ponchi101 While I understand what Fastbackss says, I would put it the other way around: it takes a wrench out of the draw. The sole way Novak loses this thing is coming down with C19 himself.

by Cuckoo4Coco Novak is the clear favorite like Iga is on the women's side, but I hope a wrench is thrown into both sides of the draw and I don't mean that either one of these players come down with Covid of course, but I mean that some younger up and coming player upsets and wins the tournament like FAA and Coco Gauff.

by Suliso Hard to get younger than Iga on WTA tour. She's only 21 ;)

Coco is younger though. ;) I mean more of a surprise winner of the championship.

Curious if you like Leylah, too. She's only 19. She's pretty popular on this board. I love her fight.

I do like Leylah and Emma and Clara Tauson. I think it is because they are all teens like me and they have all achieved so much in their games. I think that is so awesome.

by Cuckoo4Coco I think this tournament is setting up pretty well for Tsitsipas. If he can get past Nadal in the semis. He can make the finals.

by ponchi101 He has Kyrgios to deal with first. 0-3, Kyrgios.

by JazzNU I have never heard of Kubler before this week.

by ponchi101 His next door neighbors had not heard of him before this week.

by Cuckoo4Coco Krygios running his mouth as usual and being an idiot. Lost the 1st set in a tie breaker.

by JTContinental 4 American men into the R16 for the first time since 1999 (Sampras, Agassi, Courier, Martin)

by Cuckoo4Coco Krygios pulls it out over the #4 seeded Tsitsipas . They did make some great shots, but all the crap they do especially Krygios is ridiculous.
