The Mathematical Center of the Venezuelan Institute for Scientific Research was destroyed in the military operation conducted last week. This is unbelievably sad. The IVIC is among the top research centres in the world and has been a major hub for mathematics in Latin America since at least the 1970s.

Trump says he will meet Machado — and would accept Nobel Peace Prize from her
Nobel officials said Friday that the prize may not be shared or transferred.

President Donald Trump said he would accept the Nobel Peace Prize if this year’s prize winner, María Corina Machado, offered it to him when she meets with him next week, but Nobel officials quickly announced Friday that the prize may not be shared or transferred.
“Once a Nobel Prize is announced, it cannot be revoked, shared or transferred to others,” the Norwegian Nobel Committee and the Norwegian Nobel Institute said Friday. “The decision is final and stands for all time.” ...
Two people close to the White House previously told The Post that Trump was not willing to support Machado because she accepted the Peace Prize. “If she had turned it down and said, ‘I can’t accept it because it’s Donald Trump’s,’ she’d be the president of Venezuela today,” one of the people said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive situation.
Machado told Hannity she believed that if elections were held, she would win the presidency in a landslide.
John Hudson contributed to this report.

If Maria Corina could for president she would win by 90%.
Then again, if I would run I would win by 85%.
She is doing the right thing: she is flattering TIny, to see if he completes the invasion.
There is simply no other way for Venezuela. The regime will not leave. The sole way out is through violence. And only one country can provide that.

I hear armed gangs are patrolling the streets looking for anyone who supported the US action.. not surprising but very sad.. it means basically nothing has changed.. 80 or so people killed for no reason...

Can someone explain to me why anti-government protests in Iran are a good thing while anti-government protests in Minneapolis (and elsewhere in the US) are a bad thing? Asking for a friend...

I think it depends on how you define "Dictator". (I'm off to anti-ICE/tiny protest in an hour)

Breaking NYT:
The Pentagon used a secret aircraft painted to look like a civilian plane in its first boat attack, according to officials briefed on the matter.
The laws of armed conflict forbid combatants from feigning civilian status.
That is a war crime called "perfidy."

Apparently, it is now acceptable to attain a new status in life, simply by proclamation.
I hereby declare I am a 6' 2", 27 yr-old EGOT winner who is currently dating Taylor Swift.
Thank you for your attention to our delusions.

Wow. As if there was any need for more animosity between France and the USA.
This is direct.
