Astra Sharma just won her first tournament, in Bucharest...good for her..she has a unique background, truly global. Indian father, Chinese mother, born in Singapore plays for Australia..hasn't done much yet, this is her first taste of success
Her name Astra of course connotes the stars but also means 'weapon' in Sanskrit..wonder which her parents had in mind!!

Didn't know about the Sanskrit meaning. Strange that it would mean such a different thing, especially since so many words have Sanskrit origins.

The word for star comes from the Greek 'aster' I believe.. for which the Sanskrit word would be 'Tara' -not so very different after all...

My favorite comment:
And the reply

So Stefanos and Paula have deleted all references to each other from their Instagram accounts. In todays world that means that they're done.
And I thought that this would last forever.

I think Tsisipas also got legitimately hacked on his social media (seems to happen to him a lot?) so I'll wait for the verdict.

Re: TENNIS PLAYERS (Off-Court Shenanigans)
If Paula and Stefanos CANNOT do the happily ever after (and happily ever after the after), what can normal people like us expect?
This is as earth shattering and Tom and Giselle splitting up. If those two grew tired of each other, I can only expect my GF to pack her bags and slam the door on me within minutes...

M8 has a point. I agree, we should wait and see how this ends.
