No problem, I just wanted to see if I have to remember to do my pick in the morning )), and I would prefer to do it tonight, so I don't forget.

Thank you!

One of the main reasons I picked Minnen today was to see what JTContinental would say in the writeup for the second round if she lost, although someone else surprisingly picked her, too.

The snarky comment would have been fun, but alas, it won't happen after Minnen saved two break points at 3-4 in the third set and won the next two games to get past fellow qualifier Vickery.

That other Minnen picker was me, and that was not for kicks but after serious thought. One co-player friend was baffled by my choice and another urged me to change pick, so I considered shifting to Haddad Maia. Eventually, I refused to suffer from pick changer's remorse and stuck with the Venus beater. Lucky decision...

Yeah, it looked like a good pick to me on paper, but there's a reason I've never gotten a medal in a women's Survivor Pool. Invariably when I try to be the smartest guy in the room, I lose, sometimes in smackdown fashion. I watched the second half of that match last night and there was nothing between them. Could have gone either way.

Picking players like Ostapenko was the reason the pool used to have a different name.

nah, she plays Iga next. That's the reason you picked her in the first place.

Fun Fact: At this moment in time- every single player I've picked so far is still alive in this Open. :freaking:
