Amazing stats!!
We still talk about tennis. And much more.

But the previous 3 years he's come into Monte Carlo having not played the sunshine double, and still lost early - 2-3 record in those 3 events.ashkor87 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2024 7:55 am what accounts for Djokovic's poor performance at MC? (he has won it 'only' twice! - everything else at least three time)..
could it be that he is a champion on all surfaces so always took hard courts seriously too - and had just completed a hard couts swing, usually, before coming to MC - maybe a bit tired, maybe a bit unused to clay? Monte Carlo was always the first clay court event.. this year has been a different path for him, maybe it will make him more successful here! Threepeat?!
from what I could see, the court is pretty fast, for a clay court.. even the speed ratings, though maybe not current, suggest MC is the fastest of the clay events:mick1303 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2024 9:47 amCould be partially that. Could be that MC is the slowest of all clay masters.ashkor87 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2024 7:55 am what accounts for Djokovic's poor performance at MC? I wasn't checking myself. Relied on what Gill Gross said about the relative speeds.ashkor87 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2024 3:56 pmfrom what I could see, the court is pretty fast, for a clay court.. even the speed ratings, though maybe not current, suggest MC is the fastest of the clay events:mick1303 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2024 9:47 amCould be partially that. speed ratings:
Monte Carlo 24.9 (IW was 27.4)
Rome 22
Roland Garros 21
Madrid 20.9 (but the altitude makes the ball fly rapidly through the air)
Well the ATP definitely lacks a skeletal structure.
