The three matches on Armstrong allows for that transition day to night match for tv viewers and day session fans who aren't quite ready to leave. That third match is sometimes a pretty good one.

I get it. But if you only schedule two and they go long and fill up the day session, you'll still have plenty of time to switch over to night. If they go short and there's time, you can always pull the fourth match off of one of the other courts and stick it on there.

Oh I agree with you! I just wanted to point out that sometimes they do the right thing re scheduling.

Hell of a way to promote a sport, dudes! That's like having kids play soccer before an NFL game.

USTA brings small kids from tennis camps, etc. on before play to have them be "showcased" on the important big player courts with an audience.It's really cute... when it's at 10:30 am and ends before play is scheduled.
