How about if you start cleaning up just some regulations? See how that goes. Then see if progress is indeed being achieved.

As Target and Amazon drop their DEI programs, Home Depot benefits from me buying my toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning products etc from their company who is still interested in DEI.

I try never to support Home Depot if at all possible, based on a number of their political stances/leadership's political stances.

If you can buy elsewhere, you should. I have no problem with everyone taking their business elsewhere. The US is now one of those countries. In a way, 'd like them, all of them, to push so far in a way that lands them in prison or worse.
