What an idiotic way to live ones life, misogyny couched as religion couched as spirituality but actually straight up repression. :vomit:

Multiply that story by... how much? How many more stories of oppression, repression and disregard for the most basic features of being a person, all directed to women, must there be in S. Arabia?
And then you want to hold a women's tournament there? That is the reason I cannot square that circle. I don't know what level of immorality we are talking here, but there is some.
Give it to Cancun for 5 years. Give yourself some time to properly figure this out. Heck, return it to Guadalajara! That was a success.

I see it as a typical patriarchal fear of women's sexuality.. nothing scares them more than the thought that their women might actually choose whom they want to be with..the edifice of their society would collapse.. it is not actually that different from the attitude of many conservative (evangelical) religions.. all of them, in fact! But I don't know if it is the society or the religion...probably the former...

In S. Arabia there is really no separation of "society" and "religion". They are woven together. That is the tragic aspect.

It seems to me that the race to YEC (assuming no withdrawals) is almost over. 450 point gap between Jabeur at #8 and Sakkari at #9. Maybe Muchova not fit to play?

I agree...unless Sakkari wins Beijing (which I doubt)

Gauff’s win over Sakkari has eliminated her from contention, so Vondrousova, Jabeur, and Muchova take the last three spots

This looks to be in the middle of a golf course. The seating is on grass. I hope the fans don't get too excited and jump up and down.

Also where are the bathrooms?

I'm guessing the prices are in Mexican pesos?

The YEC may not be set after all, as Gauff (shoulder), Rybakina (back), and Muchova (wrist) all have injuries, although I'm not sure to what degree. Muchova's seems the most serious, as she has missed several weeks because of it.

I doubt Rybakina and Gauff have any serious injries, they seemed fine at Beijing! I would guess they just see no point in taking any risks before YEC.. Muchova's is probably more real.. is there any update on it in the social media?
