Francis is probably my favorite player on the men's tour, but I hate when people add "this isn't who I am" to an apology, when it was in fact who you were.

Rune vs Fritz is another interesting one...I don't much care for Rune but if the court is fast, he should win..they are both extreme cases..Rune is quick, Fritz is powerful but slow..it is in such matchups that peripheral forces like court speed will matter. We shall see!

Yes, that "rivalry" has been turned around completely. Of course, Sinner is quite younger but it seems that right now, Medvedev has simply no answers to him.
Reminds me of Pete/Chang, and Roger/Hewitt & Roger/Nalbandian. An initial big lead and then, a total flip of the script.

Well, it only works for players who are evenly matched...these two weren't, clearly!

Only Alcaraz can trouble him here..and even there, Sinner would have the edge

Watched one youtuber yesterday, who made astute observation: The high of Alcaraz is higher than that one of Sinner, but the average of Sinner is higher than the average of Alcaraz. I'm afraid we will be subjected to the repeat of 2006-2007, when Nadal fans were drumming about "real #1" and elevated head-to-head to the significance it does not deserve (IMO).

Very surprisingly Alcaraz is not going to trouble anyone this week anymore.

Problem for Alcaraz at the moment is that his game has a very large variance. Some days, he is Carlos Alcaraz. On others... well, he is Carlitos.
It is a bit odd.
I saw Machac play once. Really liked his style. Then again, he is a Czeck. He probably trains with Siniakova and Muchova (all court players).
