by ponchi101 Week 2 is in the books. And we have a new leader. But not to worry, we still have a long way to go, and the LOW SCORE rule is still very important.

by ptmcmahon Shouldn't the total be both weeks added together? We are counting best 17 scores so no scores should be omitted until week 18 right?

by ponchi101 yes, sure. But would take some extra tweaking of the excel sheet.
I will work both totals and will sort accordingly. Give me a little time :)

by ptmcmahon Oh double totals :D

by ponchi101 Because, you know, we like to keep it simple here at TAT2.0.
Never a complication;)

It actually makes sense to me that ponchi101 has the scores displayed the way he does. Since the lowest week will be omitted, showing the scores each week keeps us all updated as to what the actual standings are with the low-week omission. Waiting until Week 18 to include the omission would likely result in a big surprise / shakeup in the score rankings.

by ponchi101 I'll put both scores, with the lowest-week score as a the main one.
And actually, it is in the spreadsheet, when you go to the link. The last column to the right.

Chad is correct - I run a contest elsewhere that we drop the lowest and it has the drops from the 2nd event onwards

by ptmcmahon If no one wants to see that total then Ponchi can remove. I can always just add the total myself if I want to see it :)

by Omegadoom How are you scoring the Green Bay/Dallas tie, 0 points or the points placed on the game?

by ponchi101 0 points. Zilch. Nada. Niente.
We all got it wrong by picking a winner. ;)

Uhm, I thought that in the past, we scored those as zero. Since we did not talk about it before the game, I believe that it would be unfair to adjust the game to a 0.5 score. Maybe something for next year?

by Fastbackss 0 has been the standard consensus

by ptmcmahon Yeah definitely should be a 0. Then the people who were least sure about the game are penalized the least since I guess in theory they were "closest" to picking a tie.

Familiar front runner Omegadoom has taken the lead and has opened a good space between himself and second.

Please take a look at your tab. Because we had byes, there were players that missed some picks and their score is a bit screwy. If you disagree with the score, let me know.

Will post week 6 games ASAP.

by ptmcmahon I wish I could disagree with that score but I can't. What an awful week.

The biggest kicker was I went out of my money Survivor Pool... with Arizona.

by ponchi101 The kicker? One player missed THREE games, by incorrectly picking the spots. And still finished first this week.

by ptmcmahon Off to another great start... four 16's and one 15 on the Eagles last night!

I'm close to going back and trying just picking the underdog every Thursday night again.

by ponchi101 I actually feel good that I "only" gave them a 10.
OTOH. I like it when the Eagles loss. Most boring team in the NFL right now.

Should have taken my own advice...I do see 2 Bengals pickers this week.

by ponchi101 I was not paying that much attention and did not notice the Cincy pickers.
Indeed, a very good call. I really felt that the Bengals were toast without Burrow.
But that is the reason I am second to last in this contest. As much as I research and do everything to make my picks good ones.

by ptmcmahon Research can only help so much when the league has such crazy weeks. One week Denver beats the league's second last undefeated team... the next week they barely eke by the last winless team.

Meanwhile, the last undefeated team loses to a team that hadn't won back to back games in ... almost two years?

by ponchi101 A week with high scores, as there were not many upsets.
Omegadoom and NEN scored the week's and the contest's highest scores.

On to week 8. Not much separating the top players.

The full scores are in the link a few posts above.

by ptmcmahon Once again, having less faith in my Packers than others has started to pay off... I wasn't doing it earlier in the year but might be time to start.

In our home survivor pool, they knocked out my brother which gave my son the win (he had Rams and is still going.) He is now making fun of me saying I should have used his picks in my money pool :)

by ponchi101 That was a truly surprising loss. Not as if the Panthers were playing good ball as of late.
As I said in the lounge, Indy's loss was also weird.

by ptmcmahon Like most teams Panthers are a bit weird. Beat Falcons 30-0, beat Cowboys... then barely squeak by Jets and lose by 31 to Buffalo.

Omegadoom remains clearly on top, and lost a little bit of space between him and 2nd place and 3rd place.
And, unfortunately, Chad1, who was the sole picker of the Texans on Thursday, did not submit picks for the rest of the week.

by ponchi101 The total of all the points we earned on TxsGiving day, FOR ALL OF US, was 14. Omess saved the day picking the Cowboys at 9. An awesome pick.

This Packers fan is fine with that.

by ponchi101 Yep. I don't mind the results. Especially the Eagles losing.
I would have liked Detroit winning, because the Lions have been shameful for so long. But still, this year is not the same. They came back to their real level. Going back to their loss in the playoffs last year, they are 7-6 in their last 13 games. And most likely will miss the playoffs.
But I would not mind the Bears taking the division.

I apologize; I'm so bummed that I didn't get my predictions in. I actually had them all typed into the box here; all that remained was to click "Submit," and at that point something distracted me, and then I went on thinking I'd submitted here and I spent the rest of the time leading up to kickoffs fixing my fantasy football team rosters.

Again, my apologies; great contest and I'll keep on competing (and hope to not slip up like that next year).

by ponchi101 No need to apologize. You have no idea how frequently that happens. And you are still not out of it

by ponchi101 With a bad week (from Omegadoom) and a good week (from Tog), the three top of the contest are really playing it hard. Tog is now only 1 point behind Omega, and The Wolf is tracking them down, just 15 point behind. And with the playoffs having the 1/2 rule in play, this contest is not over at all.
I mean, we have no Raiders, Giants, Titans or Saints in this crowd.

Omegadoom and Tog are now both tied for the lead. But we had a stellar week from NE Nitemare, who scored a high 118, and with these two new weeks of teams that have nothing to lose, and teams that have nothing to gain, he is now only 28 points from the lead.
Wolfy remains in a good 3rd place.
